About Coffee Gear Scout
Coffee Gear Scout is an independent home coffee publication. We help people choose espresso machines, grinders, brewers and accessories for their kitchen, and explain how to use them.
We publish buying guides, side-by-side comparisons, equipment profiles, complete coffee setups and free tools. Product links go to amazon.com; shoppers outside the US are usually sent to their local Amazon store.
What we believe
- Every recommendation needs a reason. We explain who a piece of equipment suits, and who it doesn't.
- Answer first. Every guide and comparison opens with a direct answer, then explains the trade-offs.
- Be honest about how we know things. Profiles are labelled Researched unless we have tested the equipment ourselves, in which case they say Hands-on tested and describe what we did.
- Practical details matter. Counter space, portafilter size, voltage and what else you'll need to buy are part of every recommendation.
How we research
We build each profile from the manufacturer's own specifications and product details, record where every fact came from and the date we checked it, and credit figures such as heat-up times to the manufacturer. We publish no ratings, no copied reviews and no typed prices. Read our editorial policy.
How we're funded
We earn commissions from some retailer links and sell a small number of original digital planning resources. Commissions never decide what we recommend. Read our affiliate disclosure.
Who we are
